Kaia won a very close match in the final set tie break.
Kaia’s own words: “In overall it was a good match. It took some time to get use to her shots as her balls were flying so fast and with a lot of topspin, her serve was quite fast also. I was a bit nervous as well in the beginning. I did calm down for the second set. Then I served better and played more fearlessly. I did try to get her moving but must of the points were short and first couple of shots decided the point. I did not get any rhythm in the match. I think I had more luck in the end, I played bravely and it worked.”
Next up will be Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP, WTA 16).

Kaia won and reached to the fourth round.
Kaia's own words: "It was a bit tricky in the beginning, I was somewhat anxious, it did not happen in the first and second round. Still I felt that I had good touch and I tried to stay in the rallies and hit brave shots. I was trying to find good service rhythm, I know when I serve well it gives me advantage. I did not panic when I was behind, I thought that even if I lose the first set I still have a chance. At one point in the first set I got going and after that I felt great and confident."
Next up will be Serena Williams (USA, WTA1).

Kaia lost 3:6 3:6 to the current number one player in the world.
Kaia’s own words: “It was a tricky match, she served very well and I could not return most of her first serves. I had to hope that she does not get her first serve in ☺. My serve was ok today but as she returns very well, it put extra pressure on my serve. During rallies I had to be aggressive otherwise she will hit a winner herself. If there were more exchanges, then it would be more competitive I think.”
Next tournament will be WTA international event in Seoul, starting September 15th.
Kaia won a tight opening round match in three sets 7:6 3:6 6:1.
Kaia’s own words: “First round matches are usually quite nervous but this time I wasn’t anxious in the beginning of the match. I felt physically well since the beginning. It was very hot today and maybe that is why my energy level dropped briefly in the second set. I started to make simple errors and become impatient. In the deciding set I played well and it seemed that my opponent was more tired.”
Next up will be Samantha Stosur (AUS, WTA 21) and the match will most probably be played on Thursday.
