Kaia's opponent Karin Knapp of Italy had to retire at 3-3 in deciding set of qualifying round match at the Medibank International tennis tournament in Sydney. Knapp won the first set 6-3, second set went to Kaia with the same numbers.
In tomorrow's first round match Kaia will meet Dominika Cibulkovaof Slovakia.
