Kaia in own words: "Those conditions (warm and humid) here in Miami have always suited me more than those at my last tournament's location in Californian desert. I have played not many competitive matches and therefore I wasn't the most confident. A successful aggressive game was a key to winning this match. I was a bit anxious in the beginning of this match but after a few games I started to feel very well and from there on I felt I played very well. I can't wait for my next match."

Kaia about the match: "I got off with a good start and it helped to build confidence. The wind was blowing a lot and at some points it was very difficult to play. In the second set my opponent started to play and our match up then was even. I tried to stay still aggressive as much as I could and I won this match."

Kaia's comments: "Caroline managed to play her game better than I did mine. In the beginning she made a lot of unforced errors in those windy conditions and I was more solid. After that I had a total off period as I tried to find my rhythm and shots. In decider I found that good feeling again but didn't manage to win this time."
