In Welsh Open tournament ($25,000) played in Cardiff, Kaia made it to the main draw by beating Russian Irina Boulykina 6-3 6-3 earlier today. According to Kaia, it is the fastest court she has ever played - cement court used in Cardiffis even faster than hard court used in US Open or Australian Open. Many fast points are played and the final outcome of the game depends mostly on serve and return.

Yesterday, Kaia had to play two matches - in the morning she defeated Karen Paterson of Great Britain who retired at 5-0 to Kaia. In the afternoon Kaia won in two sets against
27-year old Irish player Yvonne Doyle 6-4 6-3.

Main draw begins tomorrow and Kaia's first round opponent is French player Severine Beltrame (ranked 251). Kaia will play the third match of the day on Court 11, directly after Maret Ani's match. Start time of the match is marked as "not before 15.30" local time.

Kaia takes part in doubles tournament as well - together with Sofia Arvidsson of Sweder they will meet Brittish team Anna Hawkins and Jane O'Donoghue in first round.
