Kaia reached the quarterfinal at the $25,000 ITF Women's Circuit tournament in Galatina, Italy. Today she defeated the top seed and 90th ranked German Angelika Roesch in two impressive sets 6-3 6-2. It was the 2nd best victory in Kaia's current career - the highest ranked player she has defeated so far is Eva Dyrberg (79th, in Helsinki in 2002).
In tomorrow's quarterfinal Kaia will meet Aljona Bondarenko of Ukraine (#160).
Later this evening Kaia played the quarterfinal of doubles where she and Margalita Chakhnashvili faced 4th seeds Arantxa Parra & Maria Emilia Salerni. Unfortunately Kaia's partner was injured and they lost 3-6 0-6.
