In second round of Europe/Africa Qualifying Group I of Fed Cup Estonia got a deciding lead against Portugal already after two singles matches.
Maret Ani defeated second ranked Portugese Ana Nogueira in there sets 6-2 3-6 6-2 and in battle of number ones Kaia won also in three sets 5-7 6-4 6-2 against Frederica Piedade. In doubles, Ilona Poljakova and Margit Rüütel downed Portugese team Angela Cardoso/Ana Nogueira in straight sets 6-4 6-4.
Tomorrow Estonia will meet the Group C favourite Bulgaria. As Bulgaria defeated Georgia 2-1 in today's second match of this group, Estonian team has secured a place to play-offs that will be held on Saturday and where only top two teams of each group qualify. In those matches 4 teams are selected who meet World Group first round losers in play-offs in July.
