Kaia lost in a tough battle and due to lower back injury is forced to withdraw from the last tournament of this season in Luxembourg.
Kaia's own words: "I tried to mix things up today with slices and net approaches.I did not feel comfortable today and tried to find my game. My back started to trouble me in the end of the first set and it affected the whole match. I have to withdraw from Luxembourg and come home to find out more about the injury".
The main draw for WTA international event in Linz was made today and Kaia's first round opponent will be Magdalena Rybarikova (SVK, WTA 48)

Kaia lost to Sharapova 4:6 1:6.
Kaia’s own words: “I felt good during the first set, then the match was competitive as well. I did not get easy points. When I had a sudden opportunity, I wanted to do something special with the ball and made mistakes. If you loose the first set to a top player then you need to play even better in the second set, it is very difficult and it did not work out for me today.”
Next tournament for Kaia is WTA international event in Linz, starting in October 6th.
The main draw of China Open, a WTA premier event in Beijing was made today. Kaia will meet Maria Sharapova (WTA4, RUS) in the opening round. Sharapova has won all three of the previous meetings. The match will most probably be scheduled for Sunday.

Kaia lost a three set long battle 7:6 2:6 3:6.
Kaia's own words: "Maria played well from the second set, she returned also very well. During long rallies I did not have much strength today. In overall it feels totally different to play while ill. I could not see the ball very well and took longer to react than normally. It has been a week full of troubles :)"
Next tournament will be China Open in Beijing, starting September 27th.

Kaia won today and will meet Maria Kirilenkoga (RUS, WTA 155) in the quarterfinal match tomorrow.
Kaia's own words: "She served well today and it was difficult to find any rhythm. I was in bed the whole day yesterday with a cold and I felt a bit weak today. In the beginning of the second set I felt very weak and called for a trainer, but she did not do anything to help. I just continued, did not give up and adjusted. The weather got cooler as well and I found some more strength."
The quarterfinal match will be played tomorrow at center court as the third match of the day. First match starts at 12 local time / 6 in the morning Estonian time.

Kaia won and will meet Kristyna Pliskova (CZE, WTA 97) in the second round.
Kaia's own words: "I played aggressively and really tried to go for my serves. That is why I served so many aces today. As I caught a cold, it was difficult to hit on the run. We'll see tomorrow if I will recover or not."
Kaia is the 6th seed at Kia Korea Open, an International level WTA tournament, which started today in Seoul. Kaia's first round opponent is a qualifier Elizaveta Kulichkova (WTA 208, RUS). The match will be played on Tuesday at 11 local time / 5 am Estonian time.

Kaia lost 3:6 3:6 to the current number one player in the world.
Kaia’s own words: “It was a tricky match, she served very well and I could not return most of her first serves. I had to hope that she does not get her first serve in ☺. My serve was ok today but as she returns very well, it put extra pressure on my serve. During rallies I had to be aggressive otherwise she will hit a winner herself. If there were more exchanges, then it would be more competitive I think.”
Next tournament will be WTA international event in Seoul, starting September 15th.

Kaia won and reached to the fourth round.
Kaia's own words: "It was a bit tricky in the beginning, I was somewhat anxious, it did not happen in the first and second round. Still I felt that I had good touch and I tried to stay in the rallies and hit brave shots. I was trying to find good service rhythm, I know when I serve well it gives me advantage. I did not panic when I was behind, I thought that even if I lose the first set I still have a chance. At one point in the first set I got going and after that I felt great and confident."
Next up will be Serena Williams (USA, WTA1).

Kaia won a very close match in the final set tie break.
Kaia’s own words: “In overall it was a good match. It took some time to get use to her shots as her balls were flying so fast and with a lot of topspin, her serve was quite fast also. I was a bit nervous as well in the beginning. I did calm down for the second set. Then I served better and played more fearlessly. I did try to get her moving but must of the points were short and first couple of shots decided the point. I did not get any rhythm in the match. I think I had more luck in the end, I played bravely and it worked.”
Next up will be Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP, WTA 16).

Kaia won a tight opening round match in three sets 7:6 3:6 6:1.
Kaia’s own words: “First round matches are usually quite nervous but this time I wasn’t anxious in the beginning of the match. I felt physically well since the beginning. It was very hot today and maybe that is why my energy level dropped briefly in the second set. I started to make simple errors and become impatient. In the deciding set I played well and it seemed that my opponent was more tired.”
Next up will be Samantha Stosur (AUS, WTA 21) and the match will most probably be played on Thursday.
The main draw for the last grand slam of the year, the US Open, was made today. Kaia will play Pauline Parmentier (FRA, WTA 74) in the opening round. The tournament starts on Monday, 25th of August, Kaia will play her first round match on Tuesday.

Kaia won a very tight match being 1:4 down in the deciding set. To reach to the main draw Kaia has to win one more match and her next opponent will be Silvia Soler-Espinosa (ESP, WTA 72).

Kaia played her first match at Connecticut Open qualification tournament today winning 6:1 7:5 against Sahahar Peer (WTA164, ISR). Next up will be Sorana Cirstea (WTA 80, ROU).

Kaia lost in 1 hour and 29 minutes.
Kaia's own words: "I did not start well today. The first set was a bit strange, I was 0:2 down then it got competitive and then I was 2:5 down. In the second set I served better and then it got a bit easier. It was easier to return than to serve today. While returning I did not have to use that much power to start the point, I did not have much power today."

Kaia won and reached to the quarter-finals.
Kaia's own words: "I think I played quite well today. I was aggressive and it worked. I did not find good service rhythm in the beginning but in the middle of the first set it got better and I felt quite confident."
Tomorrows opponent will be Mona Barthel (GER, WTA 61) and the match is scheduled as the second match of the day on centre court. First match starts at 11 local time / 12 Estonian time.

Kaia won in the opening round after being 2:5 down in the deciding set.
Kaia’s own words: “It was a tough match today. According to the scoreboard I won the first set comfortably, but I did realize already in the beginning that she plays good here and I was not very sharp today. Being 2:5 down in the decider I thought that I still have a chance. When I had the opportunity I did try to play aggressively, when not, I tried to be patient. It was difficult to attack today as the court is quite slow and balls bounced very high. It was a bit breezy today as well and it was hard to come forward and play aggressively.”
Kaia will meet Richel Hogenkamp (NED, WTA 152) in the second round. Hogenkamp come through qualifying and won her first round match against the fifth seed Anna Schmiedlova (SVK, WTA 68) 6:3 6:1. The match will be most probably be played on Thursday.
Kaia travelled to Australia to start her new season in WTA Premier level tournament Brisbane International. The tournament starts on Sunday January 4th. Next up will be Hobart International event and the first Grand Slam event of the year, the Australian Open, starting January 19th.
Kaia finished the 2014 season ranked 52 in the WTA singles ranking. She participated in 22 tournaments, won in total 28 matches and lost 21 encounters. Her highlights of the year were reaching to the fourth round at US Open and winning ITF $100 000 event in France. All results of the 2014 season are here
