Kaia played her first match at Connecticut Open qualification tournament today winning 6:1 7:5 against Sahahar Peer (WTA164, ISR). Next up will be Sorana Cirstea (WTA 80, ROU).

Kaia lost in 1 hour and 29 minutes.

Kaia's own words: "I did not start well today. The first set was a bit strange, I was 0:2 down then it got competitive and then I was 2:5 down. In the second set I served better and then it got a bit easier. It was easier to return than to serve today. While returning I did not have to use that much power to start the point, I did not have much power today."

After a short rest Kaia starts to prepare for hard-court tournaments. The schedule will be available soon.

Kaia won and reached to the quarter-finals.

Kaia's own words: "I think I played quite well today. I was aggressive and it worked. I did not find good service rhythm in the beginning but in the middle of the first set it got better and I felt quite confident."

Tomorrows opponent will be Mona Barthel (GER, WTA 61) and the match is scheduled as the second match of the day on centre court. First match starts at 11 local time / 12 Estonian time.

Kaia won in the opening round after being 2:5 down in the deciding set.

Kaia’s own words: “It was a tough match today. According to the scoreboard I won the first set comfortably, but I did realize already in the beginning that she plays good here and I was not very sharp today. Being 2:5 down in the decider I thought that I still have a chance. When I had the opportunity I did try to play aggressively, when not, I tried to be patient. It was difficult to attack today as the court is quite slow and balls bounced very high. It was a bit breezy today as well and it was hard to come forward and play aggressively.”

Kaia will meet Richel Hogenkamp (NED, WTA 152) in the second round. Hogenkamp come through qualifying and won her first round match against the fifth seed Anna Schmiedlova (SVK, WTA 68) 6:3 6:1. The match will be most probably be played on Thursday.

Kaia won 6:2 6:4 and is the winner of Biarritz tournament.

Kaia lost in the final 3:6 4:6.

Next tournament will be $100 000 ITF event in Biarritz, France starting on Monday. Kaia will play a qualifier in the opening round.

Kaia won and will play in the final tomorrow against Begu (ROU, WTA 81)

Kaia lost in three sets 3:6 7:6 2:6.

Kaia's own words: "She served very well today and played aggressively. I had also many break point opportunities in the first set but could not convert them. I did not serve as well as I did in the first round match. When the serve does not work, then it is very difficult to play on grass with the style I have. I think that my serve was deciseve today."

Kaia will play in Contrexeville France next week in an $100 000 ITF event.

Kaia won in 1 hour and 10 minutes and reached to the second round. This was her fourth win against Jankovic.

Kaia’s own words: “I was positively surprised that I managed to play so well during the entire match, considering that I have not had good rhythm lately. I did not have any pressure today and this is when I play my best tennis.

When I serve well, as I did today, the grass court suits my style well. You have to be aggressive from the beginning of the point and move your opponent around. I have positive memories form court number 2 as I won against Kerber at the same court last year. I also like when there is a big crowd watching my matches, it creates a great vibe of a good competition.”

Next up will be Yaroslava Shvedova (KAZ, WTA 65). Shvedova is leading their head-to-head 2:1. The last encounter was in Indian Wells this year where Shvedova won 6:3, 6:2. The match will be played on Thursday.

Kaia and Anna Tatishvili (USA) are playing doubles first round match against Belinda Bencic (SUI) and Tsvetlana Pironkova (BUL) on Wednesday. The match is scheduled at court number 4 as the third match of the day.
